It has come to my attention that I recently broke 8,000 page views. Woo. But for any of you who remember my lengthy list of New Years resolutions, I made it a point to get to 10,000 page views before the year is over.

It's getting pretty close.

It's been quite a while since I last updated this journal. I almost don't care though. I've been really busy, for sure.

Anyways, things are good.

I quick Party City, officially, on July 30. A couple of weeks later I was hired at a place called c-Systems Software. It's pretty good, I guess, so far. We produce software that poqer equipment companies use to stock and sell all their inventory. It's kind of boring, I typically spend the majority of my day sitting at my desk.

But whatev.

In other news, I've joined a band. Well, some of you might know that I'm on the worship team at church, and that's NOT the band I'm talking about. A few of the members from the worship team have come together to form, I suppose you could dub us, an indie band.

Of the 6-7 worship team members, four of us have come together to do this. Though, really, only myself and Ben (band leader/front man) are really really serious about it. We've been making all sorts of plans and conducting all sorts of research.

It'll be good. We're aiming for a sound sorta like The Horrors and The Strokes.

So far we only have one song, "Intergalactic". I play keyboard on it, Jess plays guitar, Ben bass and Justin plays drums. Actually, I'm not sure how much that one fits the direction we're going for. Ben and I are going to take it a bit more seriously than "Intergalactic" sounds, I think. But anyways, we've been writing and writing and writing, and when we get a website up we'll for sure stream our music and let you guys have a listen!

Aside from that, I'm going to start designing shirts. I've been considering this for a while, and if I can get something good going on sites like designbyhumans.com then I'll be able to fund the band a little bit, which is good. Wish me luck on that, please.

Also wanting to take art more seriously. I need to really get it together and start finishing some actual good work to post here. Though, I'm honestly thinking of giving up deviantart submissions altogether. I might just not have anything worth putting up here. In fact, I'll probably clear out most of my gallery soon. We'll see. Even if I don't upload, I'll still stick around to enjoy the works of those I'm watching.

We'll see how that goes.

Also... started a blog. Not much is on it yet, but if anybody is interested, I'll post the link to it once some more posts have been slapped onto it.

Aaaand... I dunno. Life is life. Life is good. Work... is boring, and recently a little frustrating.

And that's that.

Hopefully you guys noticed that I've uploaded a few pictures since my last journal. I just wanted to explain why they all look so similar. Please don't think that and I have no artistic direction, heh. I do think that my 'blank' face in these pictures is somewhat silly (because I NEVER carry a serious face in my day-to-day so it just looks weird on me, I think.) But this face was the point. Jess is trying to be more conceptual etc. etc. So yes... That's the point, I guess?

Also, I guess, on another note. Her and I recently got back from being in New York. It was a blast. There's too much to say for me to care about writing it all down at the moment, but let me tell you... it as a cavalcade of fun.

Will hopefully be uploading more work soon. I'm taking my day off to be productive (hence the, gasp, new pictures!) Hopefully I'll get some good work done for y'all. Seriously, I wouldn't doubt it if I've lost some watchers due to my inactivity. :/

This is a meme I found in a journal of someone who recently visited my page. I thought it'd be fun to do. It will help me develop my characters more, maybe, and it will get y'all to know the characters a little as well. Which is really what I've been wanting to do lately. Get y'all informed about what's going on in my head. Lol. I do feel a little bad though, because only a small percentage of these characters are shown in my gallery. If that. I'd like to update that so you'll all know who I'm talking about.
Beware. The names of these characters aren't even original anymore. I selected them about five years ago (at least) and at this point they seem way overdone already. I might have to change some of them lol.

1. Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11?
Hmm... Probably Mitra. Though, to be honest, that's only because she has patience for kids. Nyoko would certainly dispose of the class before day one was finished.

2. Do you think #2 is hot? How hot?
No. Naoko isn't supposed to be a super fine heroine. Her purpose is to be the average girl that readers/watchers could relate to.

3. 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Ha, wow that would make carina quite two-faced. But no doubt, she'd send Ten on a mission for donuts. Carina loves donuts. It sure would not succeed, however, because Ten is a baddy.

4. What is or would be 9's favorite book?
Definitely a field-guide type book that boyscouts use, haha.

5. Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
Interesting... it could really go either way.

6. For whatever reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should 5 share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?
Moris would definitely share his apartment with Tanaka. For one, Ansel isn't mature enough to live out on his own. He's one of the youngest in this group. And Tanaka is quite responsible, what with taking care of leftover obligations for his dad and all.

7. 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
Hahaha, Lord. Of course it would NEVER happen, but they'd probably go to a shady bar in the middle of no where and discuss some kind of truce.

8. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
Lucia would totally get pwned. But Tanaka would be nice about it.

9. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would 8 get it back?
Technically Hiro does in fact take something precious from Ten. And she'd be all for revenge. It's in the story, look forward to it~?

10. Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
What's with all this 7/12 pairing? lol. The title would be "Death and the Donut Horde"

11. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
Well, they're friends anyways, but to really get along I suppose Hiro would have to get over his insecurities. And Leon would have to give up the need for a spotlight all the time. Really they'd have to overcome their selves.

12. If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
Being the creator of Merle, I'd just threaten to take her out of the story completely if she didn't behave. And if all remained civil we'd probably work on story events together with her continuously trying to put her fate on top.

13. If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
Go buy me clothes. She's definitely a shopper.

14. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw anything regarding 11?
Actually, nobody really knows about any of these characters. But Mitra is actually based off of someone from my friends list.

15. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Hmm.. it really depends. But for the sake of not going into too much wasted detail, she'd probably be naive and side with Leon.

16. What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
"SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF HERE!" ... he's really brave though... really.

17. If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
-looking at playlist- Well I'm sure there are a few but the one I can certainly pinpoint is "Lulu's Theme" from Final Fantasy X,

18. 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Carina again? Sheez. Well Carina would definitely get it. She and her lightning fast reflexes. She'd snatch it for sure and run away before anybody noticed it was missing.

19. What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?
Well, while Naoko can certainly be swooned by romantic words, she definitely does not have any pick up lines of her own. She'd probably put something together like, "Uh.. You know I've always liked guys that were two feet shorter than me."

20. What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
Indecent exposure.

21. What is 6's secret?
I don't think she has any... yet. She is Naoko's cousin, if that means anything.

22. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Ansel. He's in swimming, if that helps. And Mitra would probably trip a good one or two times.

23. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
Dear Lord, I wouldn't feel safe with either of them! But I guess Merle is the most dangerous anyways.

24. 1 (Hiro) and 9 (Ansel) reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's (Leon's) sinister secret organization. 11 (Mitra) volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that they are actually a spy for 4 (Leon). Meanwhile, 4 (Leon) has kidnapped 12 (Carina) in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5 (Moris), they seek out 3 (Lucia), who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic?

Hopefully you'll notice that I've uploaded a few more pictures into my gallery. They're really nothing special. I like them, yes, but they're not new or improved. I don't like the idea of people watching someone who rarely uploads. I have been quite dead and not in the mood to draw. But I spent some time today going through some old pictures and pulled out a few I thought y'all might like. Please support me! =__=;

I'm going to be joining, or hopefully joining anyways, a contest. I JUST found the perfect song to keep me going on it as well. The primary idea I had for my entry included characters of a super old story of mine, but then "Goodbye Melody Rose" by Khalil Fong came on and I wasn't able to put my original idea into motion. But I've just shuffled into "A.S.A.P." by Utada Hikaru and it jjust might work for me. Or "Shiro no Longtail" from Wolf's Rain would work too now that I think about it. Haha.

Anyways, please don't look down on me! I'll really try to get some quality pieces done. hurr hurr.

In my defense, I did spend a couple of theses passed weeks working on some original music for church. Lol. Yay creativity?
