Personally, if any of you decide to read this, I find the slice-of-life stories mixed with comedy and a hint of romance to be pretty appealing.

In my latest (I think) journal, I completed a meme featuring various characters from a story that's been boiling for some many years now. This story is going to primarily be an adventure/fantasy type story. But I really wanted to incorporate some slice-of-life elements into it. I don't want it to be all grunts, fighting, and five episode long battles ala Dragon Ball Z. I kind of imagine it like Card Captor Sakura and Persona. Yes, I want school life. Yes, I want there to be some crushes and love interests.

But is there room in an adventure/fantasy story for these kinds of elements? Would it be weird to have a character in knight's armor or mage garb at some points and then an ordinary school uniform or overalls at another point? Or is it that, when faced with this kind of challenge, I have to construct a school uniform that fits the rules of this story's world?

Am I better of taking the slice-of-life elements of this story and throwing them into a new brew by itself?

I like fantasy with romance primarily. But I find that some anime/manga I like seem to be on the adventure side like FMA, Trigun, and Rurouni Kenshin. Comedy's always nice as well, but most anime seem to have that in there somewhere.
